Malala Yousafzai  is a young  girl born in Mingora, Pakistan. As a child, Malala stood up for herself, for her education and for her fundamental rights, which resulted in the Taliban issuing a death threat against her. On October 9, 2012, a gunman shot Malala when she was travelling home from school. She survived, and has continued to speak out on the importance of education. In  2014, she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and won, becoming the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Taliban thought they could silence Malala by killing her. Instead, they gave her an even stronger voice, which can now be heard all over the world. Her fight for every child to be educated.

He Named Me Malala is a 2015 American documentary film based on the true story of Malala. The film has already been released in the UK and America and  has received global recognition. Please follow the link Malala to view the trailer.
